 VELUX VS manual “Fresh Air” skylights include an insect screen and hook which can be turned using a ZCT 300 telescoping control rod (sold separately) or you can purchase a ZZZ 201 crank handle if your VS skylight will be installed within reach. We are often asked why we don’t include those accessories with the skylight. The answer is: most customers order 2+ skylights, most VS skylights are installed out of reach, and a control rod can operate multiple skylights. If we included a control rod and crank handle in every box, many control rods and crank handles would go straight to a landfill. Selling these products separately reduces waste and prevents customers from paying for something they don’t need.

The room darkening shade utilizes a double-pleated honeycomb structure with an interior aluminum coating to block even the brightest sunlight, making it ideal for bedrooms, entertainment rooms or any other space where light control is important. By helping prevent thermal heat gain, skylight shades can improve the energy efficiency of your skylights by up to 40% compared to skylights without shades.
